Third Shabbat at Midreshet Ben-Gurion
At Midreshet Ben-Gurion in the Negev, we held our third Shabbat under the title “The Birth of a Nation in the Desert - Part II?”. We chose this location inspired by David Ben-Gurion’s vision that “the Negev will be the test of the nation.”
This Shabbat focused on questions of national identity and unity in the wake of the recent war. We discussed the challenges we face as a people and how we can build a shared and united future.
A defining moment came when every participant shared that they know someone who fell in Israel’s wars. This underscored the heavy price we have paid as a people, and the responsibility we carry to continue building a better society.
